To oversee out nonperformers, you need to make a model for assessing their commitment, and that model must be founded on that individual’s capacity – not some digest perfect of execution that is generally and singularly connected to everybody. Once you’ve set up that model and conveyed it plainly, the decision of whether a worker stays or goes is dependent upon them, and you never need to depend on rebuffing individuals.
